I have had the most pleasant experience as a patient in this hospital. I came in very ill with complications. I've never seen more doctors that explained what was happening in terms I could understand. The nursing staff and Techs couldn't have been more supportive and attentive. I have nothing but high praise for everyone.
I always say: "If i'm in an emergency, take me to St. Lukes."
I arrived here with my girlfriend and she is feeling unwell And distressed. And I notice some of the staff seemed rude and careless of her. A nurse takes her into another room and she comes back very distraught. A medical staff member had asked her some questions and had raised his voice at her "why are you giving me a hard time!" when she didn't answer in a fashion that was favorable to him. My girlfriend is crying this to me and I'm disappointed about this. There was one receptionist who noticed us and came over to comfort her. I'm very thankful for her. But since arriving she felt more like a paycheck than a human being. Other than that the hospital seems fine.

Just brought out 2 year old daughter there and the nurses and doctors were very accommodating. Sure there are things to be improved but patient care is more important to me and for that reason they are a great asset to Utica
However what staff they do have are dedicated. It’s an administration problem trying to maximize profits and in dire need of an efficiency company to clean house.
