The doctor just scolded me like a child while doing my initial eye exam, while raising her voice at me and when doing my prescription she said "you should be able to see this, I don't know if your corneas are just swollen or if your prescription has changed." She gave me the wrong prescription because she said it was "good enough" with my last reading of the board of letters. They scheduled my follow up appointment for 9am while all the schedules say they don't open until 10, and then when they opened at 9 the doctor was not even here yet so I had to sit and wait for her to come in. I don't see why they couldn't have scheduled me for 9:30 if they knew nobody would be here at 9
I have had mixed reviews going here. Usually the people are nice and helpful but I've had several bad interactions making appointments. There are a few employees there that don't seem to be very happy with their lives and make the customers feel it with their inflexibility and hostile attitude. Lucky for them its Utica and there aren't very many options for people to go.
The eye exam at Visionworks was very complete and the equipment for eye tests looks more up-to-date than the last place I went. At Visionworks my lenses were perfect. I hadn't had the glasses very long when there was a spot where the color was peeling off my frames and they just immediately gave me new frames. No big fight like at the other places. So I am happy with the service.
I am puzzled by the negative review at this web site. This Visionworks was recommended to us by friends who said they got good service there and were happy with the eye exam. In the past we bought our glasses at several different companies, some turned out OK and some not. The last two places that I went to sold me glasses with lenses that were defective. In one case they put in a lenses with a defect in the glass so bad that I couldn't even see through it. That company gave me a hard time and I had to make three trips back before they would give me new lenses. At the next company they gave me the wrong prescription lenses and gave me a hard time about it and never did make it right.
Great service and my glasses work great, my glasses frame was broken and I walked in no appointment and was out in 5 min with fixed frames, no cost!
Interesting experience. The only reason why I did not give this place a 1 was because everyone is so nice. I came in for an eye exam got it done and was determined I needed glasses (I had already figured) I've never worn glasses in my life nor am I accustomed to prices. while in the process of payment I asked if I had to pay the the entire amount today, he said yes, I asked if there were any financing, he said no. I found it odd but I paid the full $244 for the glasses. Its tough to give up that kind of money for something you did not budget for. I looked at their website and found out about Care Credit, which was a credit card that could be applied for situations like these. I was honestly kind of pissed at the fact that he did not mention this to me, so I applied got accepted for a hefty credit and requested a refund as well as a re-charge for the glasses. Even though they don't finance it I think it would be good to give someone all of the options
